The Duffel Bag Obsession Featuring Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Coach

by Jennifer
February 20th, 2013

Hi my name is Jennifer Poe and I have a new obsession—the duffel bag. I am on the hunt for my dream leather duffel bag. It is a new goal of mine to learn how to pack so light I will never have to travel with a suitcase again…unless it looks like this.

I absolutely hate bag check and pick up; it is the bane of my travel existence. I hate it! I hate it! I hate it! I hate the stomach churning fear of wondering if my luggage got left behind, damaged or even worse…LOST! My luggage did get left behind once, by the way. But the main reason for my new goal is because I am a get up and go type of person—I have zero patience. So the thought of just traveling with a carry on and a purse sounds like complete bliss to me.

That being said, I have been salivating over these beauties!

What about you? Do you think you could ever travel light with only a duffel bag? Or is your suitcase a must have?

I’ve never been a label person, but the LV duffel does like nice. My problem with duffel bags is that I load it with “stuff”. And considering I’m a barely a buck ten, that is essential more than a third of my weight. Easier for me to use a roller carry-on suitcase

I’m not too much of a label person either but both the LV and Chanel are calling me. I want a duffel because it will force me to pack light. :0)

Looove these duffel bags! I would tots use one of these! I have a LAMB leopard bag that I got from Century 21 years ago. I use it for long weekends and can go a week or more. With the right pieces and laundering here and there I’ve never had issues. Seriously, if I check luggage, I don’t wear half the stuff I pack so I know it’s doable!

Same here! I never use half of the stuff I pack. That’s why I’m committed to making this duffel bag thing work! Lol! :0)

Thanks for posting these as I’m currently searching for a suitable bag. I’ve been traveling since the early 90s with a small suitcase that fit into the overhead compartment. I even took it with me on a 2 week trip to Southern Africa. My travel buddies all laughed at me but they didn’t laugh when we went to London and had to navigate the stairs at Paddington Station during the morning rush. I was so glad I had it. Traveling with a small bag forces me leave all the unnecessary stuff at home. The best part, though, is not having to wait online when I arrive at my destination. I’d be on my way home or to my accommodation while others were still at the carousel.
